I'm sure most players who have played MML1 remembers that Rock comments on nearly reading some dirty magazines in the market book store only to decline as he was too shy to do so in public. Of course, there is also the alternative "Action Comics" from the English releases of the game as part of the censorship present in MML1.

As for what Rock's favorite genres, I imagine him being into typical action-packed comics which involve showy poses and bizarre feats (which might explain his playful showoff-ish style).

Funnily enough, Japanese bookstores (and convenience stores) these days seal their adult-oriented books and maagzines either with tape or with an unusual rubber strap (as dirty as that sounds).
