2019/01/13 - Rolling around, got reviews to go Happy belated new year once again, everyone! It took me longer than I had hoped, but here is the double review of the newly-released 4 Inch-Nel Roll Caskett action figures by Sentinel!

2018/09/15 - Change of Pace And now the hard stuff.

With page updates taking place slower and most of the action taking up pages before reaching the next key point, I have gotten quite a few comments about the comic being hard to follow due to how slow things flow in terms of storyline, resulting in a lot of going back to the start of the chapter just to catch up.

Because of this, I have decided to take a shot at releasing pages in batches instead of drip-feeding them online. The gist of it is how much gets released per update will depend mostly on the cutoff being either the next scene or pivotal point in the story. As much as I want to continue working on RMDL, I have to admit it gets hard to feel motivated if I'm getting no feedback which helps me improve what I want to do.

As always, I do love to get discussion going, and I hope releasing pages as a batch can help generate discussion whether it be on the Discus pages or somewhere else. As always thank you all for reading this passion project, and I hope this new format works for all of us. Enjoy this update!

2018/08/18 - Exit temporary NPC...? Last page had a close follow-up to this one so I'm shifting the schedule ahead to get this one out earlier.

2018/08/11 - To be fair this is probably something they do all the time I go into it in more detail in this week's update page, but I like to think I'm not the only one who thinks Rock's a bit of a "Yes Man" to Roll in the original games.

2018/07/28 - Explosive yield results It's a good idea for Roll to throw those Crash Bombs (same ones from NxC for PS2) relatively close to her target. I hear they're easily affected by wind...

2018/07/14 - When things don't go as planned, just Roll with it Coming Monday is a public holiday here, and here's the next page as part of starting the 3-day weekend!

Selfish decisions aside, I do hope Roll doesn't move on the whim of an idiot AI that you need to escort and save from constant trouble. Maybe she could work like the Buddy system of MGSV...

2018/06/30 - Quick Drawback Heading to Chiba for plastic pellet games around sunrise, so comic's going up early just in case I wake up and forget.

2018/06/16 - A Passion that Burns Slight deviations from the main story like these do come off as a nice break even for myself, partly since I can switch from drawing the same character in different poses to drawing the same chracters in different poses but in different (and sometimes less) clothing. Did I mention less clothing?

I may have answered this before, but some readers might recognize Roll's handgun featuring the rear stock bearing some similarity to the Matilda handgun from the Resident Evil (BioHazard) series. This is of course intentional as it's a play on the cast from Leon The Professional, except "Matilda" was spelt as "Mathilda" (but pronounced the same) in it, hence the name given to this handgun.

So far having a weekend update schedule has given me more flexibility working on other things during the weekdays. It feels quite favorable at the moment so it seems like it's going to stay. At least for now.

2018/06/02 - Aiming for the Top Diverting off the usual course of events is something I always look forward to, even if it's just a change in the way canon events are presented. That way not only would I hit all the "key points" of the main story, I could also have something new for readers (and myself) to look forward to. Though wiggle room to allow for this sort of thing felt very minimal when establishing what we already know, it seems easier to take things in a different direction as the comic progresses.

2018/05/19 - Blowback Issue Just in case: No, this isn't a pleasant mistake caused by my horrible sense of time.
Starting with this update, I would be doing a short test run for Saturday Morning (Friday evening PST) updates for a while (though still bi-weekly). I originally went for updates that take place around Tuesday afternoons (PST) when I first started working around a study schedule. Since this has no longer been the case for some time, I have decided to give pre-weekend updates a shot and see how things go from there.

So with that said, enjoy a (slightly) early RMDL!

2018/05/09 - Party Crasher Bomb Managed to get a bit more done over GW than expected, so got some leeway to loosen the buffer a little for a new update this week!

2018/05/02 - Powering Through Starting Japan's Golden Week right with an update! Showing the Machine Gun Arm (or Machine Buster if going by DASH 1 names) in action, including my take on a shot that may be on a lot of people's minds.

2018/04/18 - Explosive Response New page just to complete the sequence from last week, and to bring us to the chapter title.

2018/04/11 - RESTART: Onwards with RMDL Chapter 5 I guess it's best that I be upfront about this before any wrong ideas are had, but the gist of it is that I have a rocky (ahem) schedule ahead of me and I am not sure how consistent updates would be. Ideally I would have everything ready for the launch, but I don't want to keep everyone hanging either so I'm going to start off with the bi-weekly updates and see how things go from there.

2018/01/03 - New Year, New Section! X manga review! Happy belated new year everyone! Sorry I have been really off for so long without saying anything due to some private stuff.

Just reconfirm: Yes, Chapter 5 of RMDL is being made and hopefully starting its run soon. In the meantime, I have gone through one of my old favorite comics "Rockman X" by Iwamoto and have made summaries and reviews of them. Check them out here!

2017/08/02 - Volnutt Figure? Action! Just finished a review of the long-awaited Rock Volnutt 4-Inch-Nel action figure by Sentinel!

2017/06/07 - More than enough time to get a second controller. It felt pretty obvious when working on this page that it follows the "see enemies to fight in the next chapter" cliffhanger method seen in all sorts of stories. Thankfully the base script doesn't seem like I'll need to rely on this again so I would like to treat this as a one (two?) off and just focus on the next part.

And so this concludes Chapter 4 of this Megaman Legends manga adaptation! I would like to take this chance to thank all you readers for being so patient with page releases! I would also like to confirm that Chapter 5 is being prepared as we speak, and I would make an announcement and teaser for things once it's ready!

2017/05/31 - The client's face's still intact. Job's still done. One of the bits of official art of Roll that seems to be overlooked often is the one where she's holding a gun-like utility. Being one of the earliest pieces of art of this Roll I have come across, I always thought it would be really cool to have the (de-facto) brother-sister combination fight alongside each other in some capacity. Of course by the time I played through the game I was quite disappointed that it never came to be, so I thought I'd play this up to make things more interesting.

As for Roll's sudden upgrade into someone who can fight, I like to think of it as something in the Caskett/Casquet's blood; if Gramps and her parents are badasses, she should be too.

2017/05/24 - Tank Shreds. I did another run of RMD for PSP over the weekend, and no matter how many times I see it it's amusing how a solid tank can fall apart from what looks like tiny-caliber machine gun fire.

Though in practice I prefer to think of the "machine gun arm" more like an autocannon for tearing apart armored targets.

2017/05/17 - The Professional. Making an update today as I'm feeling a little daring to push ahead to end this chapter soon. Enjoy!

The more keen Capcom fans might notice that this officer's combat gear may resemble another police department's.

2017/05/10 - Get Equipped (some more). Looking back at what was actually accessible straight after being introduced to the (now-working) Support Car in-game, there was actually quite a few upgrades that could have been passed over before diving back into what could be a long battle.

With that in mind, I wanted to add a new upgrades to Rock's current arsenal to spice things up a little and to avoid repeating the previous big fights.

2017/04/26 - Get Equipped. Because two guns are just plain better.

Possible one of the biggest ambiguous points of the DASH series is that we never see Rock change his weapons on-screen. I debated on this quite a bit, but decided to go the direction of Rock being capable of switching between his arms and weapons as an ability given to his unique armor set as opposed to the toy-like prosthetics. While prosthetics are indeed a canon aspect of this timeline, this particular case won't apply to Rock.

2017/04/12 - On the last episode of RMD... Genius or not, Roll should have no method of preparing an armored car with such little time between an evening and morning. I bet she cut corners somewhere, I just know it...

Once again, I apologize for the sudden disappearance and lack of updates for almost a month. I have been taking time off to be hit by a fever and cold combination of sorts.

But enough about that, I managed to get an update ready despite all this so here it is!

2017/03/30 - No rest for the weary Currently taking a short break while I catch up with lots of real-life stuff, so sorry for putting RMDL on hiatus no less. :/

On the plus side, I just completed a new review featuring Sentinel's X action figure! Thanks again for everyone's understanding!

2017/03/15 - (Not-so) subtle Art-work Long story short: Some keen viewers may have spotted the subtle change in design (visible hair aside), and I've been planning this payoff since Chapter 2 (though how exactly it would happen changed a bit along the way).

So at any rate, (formerly) cut content confirmed for RMDL!

2017/03/08 - Just too much of her parents in her. A discussion I had sometime earlier last month revolved around the Caskett/Casquet family, especially how the disappearance of Roll's parents may have affected Gramps and his possible reluctance in sending his remaining granddaughter off to danger.

With that said, I kind of like how the "hazy" effect came grainy and like a comic scan. Also due to Switch-related incidents (Breath of the Wild is AMAZING. Get it if you can!) I am going to have to hurry up with next page's Artwork! See you all next week!

2017/03/01 - Not going to Roll with the status quo. In the games, Roll's responsibility to watch over Rock during his digouts had two different titles; "Operator" in Japanese, and "Spotter" in English. While both are real terms in modern military linguistics, both are completely different roles, with the latter being part of a sniper team along with all the other combatants. With that in mind, I enjoyed expanding the terminology of the Halcyon Days era to allow for both terms and at the same time have some reason to justify putting Roll into the action in several parts throughout this retelling.

And that's the hard part: Giving enough plot justification to allow for this instead of making it shoehorned in with no prior justification. This sequence alone went through multiple rewrites, ranging from some shoddy plot devices to some that felt like in bad taste (especially what the majority of the fanbase thinks of this Roll).

2017/02/22 - Here Comes A New Challenger! (1) I was asked this a few times, and thought I'd share my thoughts on the latest page.

I remember playing the first game and right after (FINALLY!) defeating Bon Bonne with the cutscene that plays. Right when I regain control of Rock and reach the door, Roll says that she's coming as well. At first I thought she would be joining the fight as an NPC that can hold her own, but in the end it just turned out to be "Oh look at this pretty van I made from stolen parts, come back when you need me hahaha".

With that said, I simply want to make things interesting by giving her a bit more action!

2017/02/15 - "Excuse me, your honor..." Once again, the actions the Bonnes have been pulling off so far does go beyond "admirable persistance" and towards the "Oh hell these guys are for real".

For the most part, this page pretty much follows the game's conversation when the Inspector barges in with an emergency. At least so far anyway.

2017/02/08 - Time to redraw the maps again I'm probably overthinking things back when the game first came out, but I couldn't help but have doubts that Teisel and a few Servbots alone could dig a massive crater just in time for his boss battle. Fast-forward a decade and the infamous bootleg quiz game introduced Game Over-inducing explosives. The series could use more explosions, and so the math was easy.

2017/02/01 - Plot-induced impossibility to disarm I'm sure "persistence" said by gramps in the original game makes this a complete understatement.
Also hooray for saving a library visit with some hinted exposition!

2017/01/18 - Lack of treaty for some country that doesn't exist I guess multiple-choice quiz sessions are not a viable means of diffusion in this comic.

And so pushing on with weekly pages (guess I lied!), with inevitavble action coming up soon and more stuff happening within. I don't know what you guys thing, but Amelia might be up to something...

2017/01/18 - (Re)launch! This page has a bit of an obscure easter egg which felt right at the time I put this together, so I went for it. If it looks unfamiliar, try searching for Megaman Legends "Adventure Tour".

So Happy New Year again everyone! Time to kick off the new year after a long break with the second-half of Chapter 4!

2016/12/28 - It always stems from the same factor: Motive One of the elements which I found a little underwhelming about the original game was the complete lack of mention of the Mother Lode (or Great Legacy) despite being introduced right at the opening crawl (this applies to all versions of the game too, so it wasn't some dub-induced addition). Even though there is mention of undiscovered treasure on the island according to the current scene in the game which this page is following, it felt like an afterthought as it was glanced over so quickly in the conversation. As for this adaptation, their crash landing and seemingly accidental discovery of this island has definitely gotten Rock and Roll's attention.

So this will be the last update of this year! I would be taking at least a 2-week break before the second half of Chapter 4 continues. See you all in 2017!

2016/12/21 - An offer that can't be refused Even with the lack of a clearly established global order, the life of an adventurer/Digouter must be terrible. Unless you or your group has made a name for themselves, you're treated as outsiders at best and thieves or even air pirates at worst on first sight. Not to mention unless you're that good at the job, your funds are basically in the red all the time (keep in mind that this is even without a mechanic who consumes copious amounts of funding on R&D and maintenance).

This is the week before the holidays begin, but one more page coming next week! So just for the weekends: Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

2016/12/14 - This isn't Philantropy One of the biggest criticisms I give about Roll is that in the game she is more or less presented as a character that revolves completely around Rock, and isn't given much development of her own standing besides being Rock's partner. On the other hand, this can be sort of handwaved by the fact that the storylines focused on Rock and his destiny (for lack of a better word), and partly being the sort-of norm for video games at the time (except not really, as many SNES/SFC games have proven).

At any rate, given Roll's presumed pragmatism and responsibility for family expenses, I want to take this chance in this comic to give her some focus and driving motive as her own character beyond a cute face (as important as it is!).

First, a big thanks to MLT, Space Apollo, and Buster Cannon from the MMLS forums for recommending some tweaks to the comic browser, and for helping me to troubleshoot some ongoing bugs with the mobile comic browser issues (mainly on Chrome) over the weekend!

2016/11/30 - Aftermath Part 2 In spite of all that has transpired during the raid, of course it's the most senior member of the current cast that's the least fazed.

Also this page is probably the most amount of speechboxed text I have forced into a single page so far, and would probably be that way until the next huge exposition whenever and whatever it may be so conspire away!

2016/11/23 - Aftermath Having heard the news of the earthquake and signs of a tsunami near Fukushima earlier this morning, I questioned whether the update could have been badly-timed. But as the tsunami warning has subsided and the situation appears to be under control, I thought I'd make a small compromise.

Though being a breather page, I thought I'd just make a quiet update this time.

2016/10/26 - Mission... Complete? So this concludes the "Round 2" against Tron, and the completion of the Protect City Hall section of the story!

With the appearance of the Gustav, I thought it was only natural to include the transport variant of the Drache found in the Misadventures prequel game. The Servbot behind it better be a good pilot though, since this time the balance's towards one side with Gustav only having one arm this time around. Makes you wonder what happened to it...

2016/10/12 - Alright, you Servbots go fly towards that and- oh nevermind. Just making an extra schedule push for an action sequence. Enjoy!

2016/10/05 - This should have been an unbeatable boss sequence. Considering what the Gustav was capable of doing in MoTB, we all know who would be the winner had these two fought in their current condition.

But unfortunately this isn't in the plot of MML1. Better luck next time, Tron!

2016/09/21 - Just got to hate interruptions before a one-way battle in a giant robot in your favor... Kicking off the next chapter with a double page update, following up from the previous battle between a battle-worn Rock and Tron in her Gustav!

2016/09/18 - New Section Ready! After talking about this for some time, I have finally gotten around to creating a review section for all sorts of Megaman-related merchandise ranging from toys to comics (including those not released in English).

For the first entry, I have reviewed the Rockman.EXE action figure from the 4 Inch-Nel toy line. Check it out!

2016/09/14 - Chapter 4! Hello again everyone!

As promised this week marks the beginning of the next chapter, starting with a cover page followed by a double page update coming next week! (Afterwards, updates will resume their usual bi-weekly schedule so it's the least I could do!)

2016/07/06 - Me Gustav. It really never is Rock's day in this adaptation. So far every single 'boss' he fights head-on has a second form when he is exhausted just fighting the first (though maybe not so much for the Ferdinand fight).

And so concludes Chapter 3 and its one-week updates that has led up to its completion! Unfortunately, this also means I would be going on a slight break to work on the groundwork for the next chapter. My schedule would be getting chaotic soon, but I'll make an announcement once I finalize the details.

2016/06/22 - MISS TROOON~ So just what does Tron have in mind, destroying the Ferdinand instead of using it to escape?

2016/06/15 - Not yet, Rock! It's not over yet!! Alright, so I lied. Ferdinand may have taken a big hit, but Tron's certainly not backing down just yet. But just what does she have in mind with what remains of the Ferdinand?

Also that's coming out of your savings Rock, and that building didn't look cheap.

2016/06/08 - Da-da-da-daaaaaaaaaaa! And so the weekly-updates come to a stop now that a huge chunk of the action finishes with the Ferdinand being defeated! Hope everyone has enjoyed this brief spurt (albeit not much plot-wise).

2016/06/01 - Through the action. I've been on a slight productivity kick this weekend, and I'm sure everyone's wanting to hurry up through these segments so here we go!

2016/05/11 - Crafty. The way I see it: Rock is obviously not Roll or Tron-level smart, but he's cunning enough to handle foes several times his size and strength.

I have added a small section in the comics pages where I will include some of my comments on each page. So far I have gone through pages here and there, but mainly the first 10 or so pages have been commented on (including links to the remade pages which came out more convenient than I first thought). So if you're curious to know what was going on in my head at the time I drew those, please check those out!

2016/04/06 - Bombs away. As clear as it is that Rock doesn't have much choice when facing off against giant robots with machineguns and explosives, I don't think the idea of using someone else's high-class home as a disaster shelter will ever fly in reality.

Visited the temporary Mega Man Corner in Tokyo over the weekend which was set up to celebrate the Classic Collection coming to Japan. Been enjoying through the classics as well, and managed to get a closer look at the classic artwork in-person, as well as have a small trip through history with the stall set up displaying a number of original packagings for each game spanning through the entire franchise. At any rate, glad to have caught it in time before it ended!

2016/02/17 - Back and forth. One thing that players may remember about the Ferdinand battle is that Tron uses the front wheels to fire off a kind of fire shockwave-thing, something which I had to think over when writing the scenario. While the Bonnes did have a mix-mash of tech at their disposal, I didn't want to have a plain fireball shockwave as they seemed too similar to the back and forth projectiles that is inevitable in battles like these. In the end, I compromised with the Ferdinand forcefully kicking up huge debris using this very same technique. Anyway, I hope this isn't too obscure of a change no less.

2016/02/03 - Ferdinand battle music goes here. Because fights like these always tend to begin with an exchange of firepower.

Been pretty busy with several projects at the moment, one of them being a proper review of the Mega Man nendoroid sitting on my desk. Also snagged original copies of Rockman DASH 1 and 2 over the weekend! Maybe I can compare them properly with the US version sometime...

2016/01/06 - New Year, New Environment Hello again everyone, and happy belated new year!

First, I would like to apologize for the draught due to aforementioned problems and a lack of available Internet. On the plus side, I would like to confirm that things should return to normal in the following week after my room Internet gets finalized.

I have quite a bit to share in the near future, but the least I want to do is start off the New Year with a new page! Once again, thanks for everyone's support and patience! Here's to a productive 2016!

2015/12/09 - Moving back! So finally, the first Bonnes boss battle is about to kick off! And just in time for christmas!

As mentioned before, I would be moving back to Tokyo a little later this week. Unfortunately due to some housing complications I would be sort-of-homeless and without Internet for the update week. Because of that, I have decided to make this update early. Hopefully I'll be back in a couple of weeks!

2015/12/02 - Structure repair costs? What structure repair costs? We'll let someone else worry about that...

2015/11/18 - Power of "Mayor" As a bit of insight for RMDL, I would like to do a bit of a trivia/info-dump about the next two pages:

These couple of pages were added in at the last-minute during planning with the intent of balancing the pace between Tron's sortie and the inevitable boss battle coming up. The basic idea was to expand on the events by show a bit more behind what happened inside City Hall while Rock is running around laying waste to the Bonnes' assault deployment. However, I am not sure whether I should have went ahead and drew these two pages as part of the main story (even if I had a bit of fun doing so).

I'm probably overthinking things, but either way I hope everyone enjoys the upcoming pages all the same!

In more personal news, I'll be planning my move back to Tokyo (in time for 5 years since RMDL first started, it's been a while!) next week. Thinking of sharing shots of the future workshop via Facebook and Twitter while I'm there!

2015/11/04 - Enter Tron's first giant robot? Fun note: Dashe from the MMLS forums metioned how on foot, Tron's probably the kind of character who picks up whatever's lying around and use it as a weapon.

Having imagined her wielding a lead pipe (or something similar) after she mentioned it, I have to agree with her on this one.

2015/10/21 - Just like a flowchart. Her "kids" or not, Tron is still a bit of a jerk to them.

As a side note, I admit that the "inprobably heavy object" gag was inspired from a throwaway joke from an old 4-koma I read some time ago.

Managed to get plenty done this week it seems! I would also like to present the much-delayed Vehicle/Mechanics section! It has finally been prepared and ready for everyone to look through!
Like with the character and much-out-of-date weapon profiles, these sections will be updated as the story goes, so be sure to check back whenever an update is announced!

2015/09/16 - Illustration: Tron Lab Outfit (Ver. RMDL) I have to admit, this is my frst time doing a proper fully illustrated piece featuring Tron.
Though (as some of you may know) I would pick Roll if I had to choose one over the other, the "Lab" appearance of Tron from MoTB without the creepy glasses (Thanks for the idea, Dashe!) would make me reconsider.

2015/08/19 - Resurfacing elements. The idea of hypercompetent people in positions they're clearly overqualified for is appealing, if only in fiction.

As a side note, I recently invested in a new machine to continue working on RMDL and my other projects! Just had Windows 10 installed on it and still getting used to it, but I'm hoping to do much more with it!

2015/07/22 - Always something else going on. Looks like this one will be another pre-travel update, but business as usual!

2015/07/07 - What goes up... I know, I know. There has been a lot of action but not enough of everything else going on. More plot would be coming up, I promise!

So has everyone been keeping an eye on comcept's spiritual successort Red Ash? I've opted-in for the "BOOKWORM BLISS" and I can't wait to the the Legends that is more Legends than may have hoped for! If you haven't backed it yet, be sure to do so here!

2015/06/24 - Improbable movement everywhere. As much as I like the idea of Rock fighting large quantities of much-larger enemies by stick close to them and picking out the others one by one, I can't help but get reminders of bad or excessive QTEs found in games (with notable exception of games made by Platinum because PRESENTATION).

Anyway, back from vacation last week with some new Megaman stuff I could share below!

2015/06/10 - The battle just keeps getting more and more Hiryu. Looks like Rock's taken a liking to getting close-up on everything he fights, something the games hardly give any incentive to do such (I insist that this should be a thing).

I have started work on the mechanics profiles as of late, starting with the Drache and perhaps its variants while I'm at it. Expect previews coming soon!

On an unrelated note, I'll be in Tokyo again between 10th and 14th for a quick vacation and to take care of some personal stuff.

2015/05/27 - Coming Soon: More stuff you wish you could do in the game. During my very first playthrough of MML1, I remember constantly losing all the surrounding buildings and death from the Bon Bonne battle. I cannot remember why I had so much trouble with this part though...

2015/05/13 - The Will of One (among others) I guess unlike cool weapons and ideas, Digi-Cheap disposables failed to survive to this era.

So here comes the chapter where things blow up. Seems like the original story so far, isn't it? But that can't be it, can it?

2015/04/08 - Tactical Exploration Action I just recently recalled that Capcom and Konami did some cross-company collaborations with their big releases before; starting with the Game Boy Advance era with the EXE series crossing with Boktai, and (somewhat) more recently Monster Hunter and Peace Walker. Those were really good times (even if the games themselves may be subjective) and, well, maybe that's why I continue making these things.

2015/04/01 - This week's NG. In between these two chapters, I wanted to revisit some earlier scenes in my own way. Redrawing the pages for the sake of replacing them didn't feel right (and just to remind me how much I foul up) so I decided to go about it in a different way.

In other news, a working prototype of RMDL's mobile site is available now! I have only tested it on my own Xperia smartphone using Firefox and Chrome browsers (and so far so good), so sorry if they appear weird on your end! At the moment, draftwork for Chapter 3 is progressing nicely. This time though, I am aiming for a less 'jarring' hiatus period between chapters and instead having some 'buffer content' in between. Script is pretty much set now so hopefully it'll turn out the way everyone wants it!

2015/03/04 - The hero's back! It's fun to have hot-headed showoff hero Rock back again.

2015/02/18 - Are we tired of the suspense? Hope I didn't take too long this time! I would like to finish this chapter at the very least!

I admit that the first two panels of this latest one is (mostly) taken from KR Spirits, but it seemed too fitting to pass on. Also, stuff blowing up again; it's been too long...

2015/01/14 - We can't help but relate to them, really. So, just what kind of sport do people go all SERIOUS BUSINESS over in the Halcyon Days era? Maybe it's some kind of contact-sport version of golf hockey football...

Just relocated to the country area recently, with Internet back up just a day ago. With this and some other real-life stuff that just so-happened during the move, I might be delayed in the next page. Either way, I'll try to put up something (even if filler) for the next update! Thanks for understanding!

2014/12/31 - No, I have not forgotten about them either. Honestly speaking, I have always found it strange that both Amelia and Barrell seemed like they were doing nothing in the original game. Closest thing I can imagine was that they got bound down or something and were untied once Rock got to them. Or perhaps there's another side to all this we don't know about...?

Unfortunately on the real-life side of things, I've been having a busy couple of months with work and other private matters (among other things). As a result I had to postpone the World of Haclyon Days section until later. I really don't like doing this...

2014/09/24 - No room for pause. What we know so far: This Rock has a showy streak, stubborn but good-natured, and a magnet for danger. Doesn't seem too far from the original, I guess...

In other news, writeup for the "World of Halcyon Days" section has begun. This section is made for further reading to supplement the manga adaptation's take on the Megaman Legends lore. Fine details on Terra and the Halcyon Days era such as language, cultures, and technology will be covered in this section, and occasionally updated as the plot continues forward. I'm currently aiming for the update to take place around mid-November; let's see how much can be squeezed in between then and now!

2014/08/20 - High-yield explosives. Surely, these cops were bound to have something unexpectedly powerful, right? Well, that's one down and two more to go...

On an unrelated note, I'll be finding myself in Hokkaido on vacation next week, so until the next update!

2014/08/06 - Run-Flats. Just following up from the last update: As mentioned in the latest page, It's very likely that the wheels and tires used by the Blumebear are tough enough to shrug off small attacks like gunfire from rifles (or are at least unreliant on air in their tires). Of course, their durability are useless against large cannons or a Buster shot.

2014/07/23 - Kattelox Police Marksmanship Academy... ... isn't actually the case here. The Bonnes are just that tough!

I'm sure quite a few players have asked themselves before why can't they just stop the Blumebears by shooting out their tires. A few hints in the machine specs come to mind: Not only are their car tires huge, the Blumebear's maximum ground speed exceeds 200 km/h; it may not seem like much but this is actually incredible considering that the vehicle in question is improbably top-heavy.

2014/07/16 - Basically the same tactics when you're got a full red health bar. With the Grenade "Special Weapon" now shared among anyone who can make use of it, it gives our unarmed Blue Boy some use after all? Now if he were to just accept the offer for a gun... though that may invoke the image of a certain package illustration...?

With the latest page out, I can share this bit of trivia with everyone
In the original draft of the last two pages, Rock walks towards the Blumebears while bantering with things something along the lines of "they must be air pirates", "why are you doing this", "if I don't like your answer", etc. It was only when I hid the text during the coloring phase when I noticed that having Rock not saying anything was not only more in-character for him, but also played out just like the original games. Plus the silence made it seemed much funnier. For reference:

2014/05/07 - They can't have it easy now, can they? One of the main things which I wanted to bring up is that the Police actually did something during this part of the game, despite being clearly outgunned. Hopefully this gives them a little dignity beyond being the infamous "Cops who can do nothing".

2014/03/26 - Been a while, but kept you waiting! It's been quite a break for me to get things sorted at home and work, but hopefully now that things have calmed down a little after a major release I can resume these bi-weekly updates for a while. So have at the beginning of Chapter 2!

A little thing about the popular vending macine drinks from the game.
As some long-time players may already know, earlier Japanese releases of the game had some product placement with Otsuka Foods Company's "Oronamin C" drink which got localized as a normal canned soft drink. Having a chance to try it out during a visit to Okinawa, I decided to try some which could be bought from supermarkets, convenience stores, and common vending machines (of course). Given the context of the new page, I decided to give my thoughts on it.

Being a fan of enery drinks myself, I found these to be a nice pick-me-up to start off a day or before starting a long driving trip. Interestingly there appears to be at least two grades/versions of it, with the less-known one apparently a more concentrated version of it (and harder to find as far as I know). But as a very sweet drink from the royal jelly (a common ingredient in Japanese energy drinks), having some water afterwards is advised especially before hitting the road on a hot day.

2013/10/30 - It's still in progress! As mentioned a couple of weeks back, I most likely needed some extra time to prepare for the upcoming chapters as larger priorities have come up. Unfortunately, I would have to put the main comic on a temporary hiatus until I manage to get a decent batch ready to get the schedule going again.

As much as any cancellation related to the series has probably left some bad memories, I suppose you'll want a little assurance so here goes, a sneak peek at one of several prepared drafts!

2013/10/16 - Who the hell do you think they are!? Ah, I've been waiting to draw and put this up for quite a while.

So here we have Leiji Matsumoto's popular pirate appearance worn by the Legends' resident pirate leader. A fitting combination I guess?

On the flip-side of things, I have been extremely busy with work over the past month (and probably bigger things to come). For some time to at least gather myself up, I may need to take things easily for a while. We'll see how things go from here.

2013/10/02 - Can you recognize the scenes? Now what would a dramatic debut of the Bonnes be like without their own double page?

Seeing how it contrasted, I also decided to give the previous page a black background. It's no flashback like it's usually used, but just because I thought it felt appropriate anyway (i.e. because it looks cool).

There has been something discussed at a session with the group at MMLS earlier this week, so I'll repeat it here and in the FAQ in case anyone else is curious: RMDL will have no original characters (OCs); there may be minor derivatives or expansions based on existing ones, but absolutely no originals (with exception of unimportant background ones of course). I'm not good enough at writing to add them.

Edit (2013/10/03): Well do I feel silly after this mess-up... Fixed the spelling of the Gesellschaft and the grammatical errors. Thanks Dashe!

Design is almost identical to her game counterpart asides from some minor color differences, though I am considering given her more hair variations in some way.

The question remains though: Left, or right?

(2013/09/26 Edit): Did a second iteration of the draft and made her crazy bat hair less so and more 'believable'. Maybe this would work better, perhaps if she didn't look like a certain former rookie from another franchise (on the other hand...)?

2013/09/04 - COLOR! A noteworthy mention before moving on would be the announcement of Keiji "INAFKING" Inafune's Mighty №9. Being a fan of challenging platformers myself, it felt right to back this as one of the many means of having platformers making a due-comeback into mainstream gaming.

Without spoiling too much, I intend to have Amelia play a larger part in this adaptation beyond being a source of conversation for the main characters. For this, I decided on a more sharper appearance to show her off a bit more, along with a slightly more detailed outfit based on her original counterpart.

Perhaps the largest change would be the hairstyle; the original Amelia had some large hair up front, which didn't come out too well in practice, hence downplaying that bit which resulted in some kind of mullet.

It was Easter public holidays, so I decided to attend a local event promoting Metal Gear Rising last Saturday. Got myself some freebies in the process including a MGS4 Raiden skin DLC code.

2013/03/20 - [NEW PAGE] - A long-awaited answer The original "Digouters"? Or the US-localized "Diggers"?

It's probably been debated for a while in mixed communities; I have gotten quite a bit of feedback from several forums regarding my use of the Japanese terminology, especially since each side has their own preferences from what they first came across (English-speaking communities prefer the US dub, Japanese for the original terms, etc).

I grew up where I had easy access to both as imports, so I can't quite have a xenocentric preference for either, other than the combined experience I gained from playing both (though I still acknowledge the JP release by default, considering it was released during a time of poor translations).

So instead of just sticking to one of the two glossaries for this adaptation, I've decided to adopt them both to make the adaptation more expansive.

2012/10/10 - [NEW PAGE] - Wild could describe the store's contents, whatever they are... After a long wait, the Mechanics section has finally opened; starting with its first entry, the aptly-named Rockbuster!

After giving it some thought, it has been decided to switch back to the 'round' speechboxes for the comic to give it a more natural feel to it. Considering that readability was never a major issue to begin with, I suppose the compromise was unnecessary after all. Please tell me what you think!

2012/07/04 - [NEW PAGE] - Out of one, into another For the majority of the time between these updates, I have been too busy finding out the cause of the problem plaguing the site; I may have found the solution, though only time will tell. But site problems or not, we're onto the next chapter!

2012/06/24 - Site display issues It has come to my attention that there are some image display problems on the site; one of them being the logo which for some reason appears as a broken link when the page is refreshed normally. However, a hard refresh (Ctrl + F5) seems to fix the problem, at least until a normal refresh (F5) is pressed again.

Because the cause of the problem has not been resolved, I would like to request that if you suspect any broken links or errors in the page, please double-check by performing a hard-refresh on your browser. Thank you.

2012/06/21 - Some Comic Browser changes Some minor modifications made to the comic browser; now the page will not reset itself to show the latest page even when the page refreshes!

As this modification is still under testing, please tell me if anyone is experiencing problems with it.

2012/06/20 - We're 15 minutes (or less) into the game~ And finally, the Prologue arc has come to its known conclusion; for this, I have decided to make this one a double-page spread to properly capture its game equivalent the way I wanted.

2012/06/06 - Site upgrade time! In addition to a new page, I have begun on doing some touching-up of the main site, and hoping to be done with it soon. What do you think so far?

As the prologue is (finally!) coming to an end, Chapter navigation has been added to the Comic Navi bars, as well as some minor tweaks; specifically, refreshing the comics section will reset the drop menus properly to avoid confusion.

2012/05/23 - A typical bi-weekly Things have been pretty uneventful over here; with the site move more or less smooth (with some minor SE tweaks needed) without any known major problems, here's the next page!

2012/05/15 - A new home Effective today, Rockman DASH Legends will be hosted under its dedicated domain.

2012/05/09 - Let's move on, shall we? Following advice, I have give myself the time to accumulate a steady buffer of pages to maintain a stream of content. Now that the buffer's reached a reasonable safety zone, I have decided to make the update this week. Enjoy!

2012/05/02 - Another couple of weeks, another page, a new section, and a few other updates As some agreed a couple of weeks ago, the idea of having Kattelox Island on their ridiculously specific map did not make enough sense to be justfied in the original game. Twisting the plot a bit here and there is what I'll probably find myself doing as the story goes on...

And now for a big step in content: as promised (and demanded?), a Glossary is now available for your reading pleasure!

Also some new content this time; the Characters page has been updated, with some minor tweaks in the graphical layout of the site.

2012/04/18 - Well, alright. This time I'm quite sure. Thanks to a few days off during Easter, make the whole 'every other week update' case starting this week instead.

2012/04/11 - Update, and a schedule change I understand that I have been inconsistent with the recent updates starting this year. However, I would like to continue with this comic; as such, I would like to change my updating schedule to once every two weeks, and see how it goes from there.

2012/02/08 - Character Profiles Under Construction For this update, I have begun construction of the layout for the profiles, starting with some content involving Rock, and Roll.

2012/02/01 - Not yet! I admit having been a bit slow on the updates this month; I have been a little occupied with a few things here and there for the whole month, and have been getting the plans for the upcoming pages laid out. But onwards!

As for other developments, I would be doing a few more tweaks with the site here and there...

2011/11/03 - First/Back Functions Added Additions for "first page" & "last page" comic navigation panels completed.

2011/11/02 - Minor Modifications & New Comic Tightened code a little more for main site functions, and improved navigation bars to include disabling of forward/back buttons upon reaching the first and last pages.

2011/10/31 - Live Test & More coding Updates AND WE'RE LIVE, finally!
Experimentation with Javascript continues for formatting. So far, so good.

2011/10/25 - Overhaul Site foundation re-established using Dreamweaver using a template-based development approach.
